Turkish President Abdullah Gul Appoints Bureaucrats Vetoed By His Predecessor

President Gul began confirming appointments of bureaucrats that had previously been vetoed by former President Ahmet Necdet Sezer. These AKP appointees had been rejected mostly due to their past activities and affiliations with Islamist sects. Those bureaucrats are now being officially appointed to the positions they have held in ‘acting’ status during the term of the previous AKP government.
