I have a new paper out with Joe D’Aleo.
First I want to say that without E.M. Smith, aka “Chiefio”
and his astounding work with GISS process analysis, this paper would be
far less interesting and insightful. We owe him a huge debt of
gratitude. I ask WUWT readers to visit his blog “Musings from the Chiefio”
and click the widget in the right sidebar that says “buy me a beer”.
Trust me when I say he can really use a few hits in the tip jar more
than he needs beer.
One point I touch on frequently in talks I've given over the years,
especially when people ask me if Western influence will ultimately
overwhelm the Islamic supremacist imperative in Muslim lands and
extinguish the jihad, is that in the last 100 years the movement has
been in the opposite direction: Western influence has been waning, and
Sharia is on the rise.
And I've pointed out many times that while saw few hijabbed women on
the street in Cairo in 1969, one saw few without hijab in 2009. And now
comes an illuminating photo essay from Phyllis Chesler at Pajamas Media that illustrates just that. Two of the photos are above, and Phyllis has more here.

Bürgerbewegung Pro Heilbronn im Bürgerhaus Heilbronn-Böckingen einen
Vortrag mit dem Titel “Eurabia. Die Kapitulation Europas vor dem
Islam”. Etwa 60 interessierte Bürger fanden sich ein, um die
aufrüttelnden Darlegungen, die fast Wort für Wort mit Bildmaterial,
Zahlen, Fakten und Quellen unterlegt wurden, zu hören. Die PI-Gruppen
Heilbronn und Stuttgart waren ebenso anwesend.

Necla Kelek. The translator includes this brief introduction:
The recent interview with the sociologist Necla Kelek
showed a little bit about how she approaches Islam. The interview below
is more self-conscious, giving us — among other things — some idea of
what she thinks about the more strident bleeding hearts. The reporter
quotes one phrase that the PCers like to aim at Kelek: “fundamentalist
of the Enlightenment.” It betrays their frustration that their
posturing, name-calling and shouting are simply answered with deadly
logic.
