The Swiss journalist Alain Jean-Mairet responds to an article by Daniel Pipes entitled “Europe or Eurabia.” Pipes lists three possible outcomes to the current crisis in which millions of Muslims are slowly but surely exerting more and more influence over the European countries they have migrated to: 1) domination of Europe by Islam 2) rejection of Islam by Europeans who finally emerge from their coma and rise up against the enemy 3) peaceful and harmonious co-existence between Muslims and Europeans...
Lees verder...
That renowned magazine points that
Kosovo is a clan-based society in which a handful of criminals are keeping their own people as hostages while EU bureaucrats are ignoring that writes Spiegel.
Spiegel says that the international community has done nothing during the ten years of the UN rule to curb the corruption. Nor has the Albanian organized crime in Kosovo been curbed even though the police forces and governments of western countries have known for a long time that the province is the main Balkan crossroad for drug and arms dealing, as well as for people trafficking in Europe.
Europol says that the Albanian organized crime gangs are controlling 80% of the drug market in northern Europe, and some 40% in Western Europe, notes Spiegel.
Saudi Cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid Warns: Freedom of Speech Might Lead to Freedom of Belief
The following are excerpts from an interview with Saudi cleric Muhammad Al-Munajid. The interview aired on Al-Majd TV on March 30, 2008.
Muhammad Al-Munajid: "Some of these heretics say: 'Islam is not the private property of anyone.' So what do they want? They say: 'No sect has a monopoly on Islam.' So what do they want? They say: 'We want to issue rulings.' Someone who is ignorant, who does not know any Arabic, or who has no knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence wants to issue rulings?! They say: 'We reinterpret the texts.' There is a very dangerous conspiracy against the religion of Islam in newspapers and in what these people say. A journalist, or one of those lowlifes, wants to... These people are a mixture of Western, local, and imported ideologies, but they want to express their views with regard to religious rulings. This is the prerogative of religious scholars, not of ignorant people - the prerogative of knowledgeable people, not of fools or heretics.

Tatmotiv war Eifersucht - Verteidigung wollte Freispruch
Chemnitz (ddp-lsc).
Bat Ye’or in her book about Eurabia documented how European leaders have for years been quietly planning to merge Europe with the Islamic world. This has been denounced as a “conspiracy theory.” Only a few months ago the British Foreign Minister David Miliband said openly that the European Union should expand to include the Muslim Middle East and North Africa. Now French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are saying virtually the same thing. The greatest betrayal in European history is fact, not fiction. And to think that many people supported Sarkozy because he should “halt” Islamization. Now he is speeding it up:

Yrsa Stenius, the Swedish press Ombudsmann, wants to press charges against certain bloggers. She is worried about developments on the Internet, where anybody can just write anything they want. She says this has gone too far. She fears this trend could even spread to the mainstream media, unless something is done and a legal precedent is established to rein in unruly bloggers.
At the same time, the extreme left-wing thugs of Antifascistisk Action (AFA), who frequently physically assault critics of mass immigration, for instance members of the small party the Sweden Democrats, recently destroyed the car of a 90-year-old woman and wrote "nasse" (Nazi) on top of it. As it turned out, they picked the wrong car. Why doesn't Ms. Stenius and the rest of the establishment worry more about the violent activities of AFA, instead of "impolite" bloggers who do nothing more than write words on their websites?

UN mission in Kosovo known as UNMIK has allegedly initiated a secret meeting with Belgrade last week in which it proposed to jointly manage parts of Kosovo in areas of province's judiciary, police, customs, health care, railways and transportation reports an Albanian daily Zeri citing unnamed diplomatic sources.
The so-called president of Albanian separatists Fatmir Sejdiju and a so-called prime minister of Albanian separatists Hasim Thaci have expressed concern saying that the UN's decision is "very problematic for Kosovo".
The Albanian newspaper alleges that the "confidential meeting, held on April 16 in Belgrade" was to revive the plan originally proposed by the Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic and that UN seeks to implement it "in the near future".Lees verder...

Prices are surging for food commodities worldwide, posing a tough policy challenge for developing countries - can they protect poor consumers without crushing new opportunities for farmers?
Poor consumers across the globe are protesting about their rising food bills. In December 2007, Mexicans rioted in response to an enormous jump in tortilla prices, which quadrupled in some parts of the country; in January 2008, Indonesians took to the streets to protest high soybean prices; in February, protesters in three major towns in Burkina Faso, angry about the rising cost of food and other basic goods, attacked government offices and shops; unrest linked to food markets has occurred also in Guinea, Mauritania, Morocco, Senegal, Uzbekistan, and Yemen.Lees verder...
PRISTINA, Serbia (AP) -- A human rights group has urged Kosovo authorities to investigate claims by a former U.N. war crimes prosecutor that ethnic Albanian guerrillas killed dozens of Serbs and sold their organs at the end of the war in Kosovo.
New York-based Human Rights Watch said Carla Del Ponte had presented "sufficiently grave evidence" in her newly-published book to warrant an investigation into claims guerrillas took Serbs into Albania, killed them and then sold their organs to international traffickers in 1999.
In a letter dated April 4 and addressed to Kosovo's prime minister, the rights group called upon Kosovo's authorities "to determine the veracity" of the claims with counterparts in Albania.Lees verder...
Speaking at his party’s parliamentary group meeting, MHP Leader Devlet Bahceli accused PM Erdogan of bringing the judiciary and the will of the people against one another and of declaring jihad against the judiciary, using the [pro-AKP] media. He said that the PM and the AKP government ministers, are using the EU stick as a tool in their intimidation campaign against the judiciary. Bahceli said, “The judiciary is being blackmailed by EU statements threatening to suspend Turkey’s membership talks, if the lawsuit against AKP is pursued”. Chief of General Staff General Yasar Buyukanit said that religion [Islam] and religious sentiments have always been exploited by certain circles and formations since the foundation of the modern Turkish Republic, and warned that these circles are continuing with their anti-secular activities.
In an interview for the April issue of the Turkish Defense and Aviation Magazine Gen. Buyukanit said, "Reactionary [Islamist] elements carry out their anti-secular activities through legal associations such as foundations, associations etc. both in Turkey and abroad".
Talking about the PKK terrorism Buyukanit said that the aim of the secessionist terrorist movement was the destruction of the nation-state and its unitary structure, and added that the ethnic and religious plurality of the country was also being exploited by some circles supported by foreign elements.
Asked about how a permanent solution could be achieved, Buyukanit said, "Terrorism has economic, social and political dimensions as well as the security dimension. Terrorism can only be eliminated with a fight comprising all those dimensions."

Following PM Erdogan’s repeated calls for Turkish women to give birth to more children, columnist Mevlut Ozcan of the Islamist Turkish daily Milli Gazete wrote that Muslim population is targeted by Christians and Jews who organize various conferences in Islamic countries to weaken the Muslims.
He wrote, “The U.S. Russia, Israel, Britain and India have united in their hostility towards the Islamic world. One of their methods is promoting population planning, which means genocide, which means an undeclared war.
"Muslims’ strongest response is to make more children. If 15 million Turkish families decide to have a child now, the first cries of 15 million new babies next year will be the ‘victory march’ sung against Islam’s enemies.Lees verder...
This statement follows the founding document of a group of European citizens published in openDemocracy:
"Turkey and a new vision for Europe" (12 December 2007):
"We are a group of European citizens who are disturbed both by the strength of prejudice in the European Union debate on Turkey's accession, and by setbacks to the reform process in Turkey. We are committed to the success of the European Union as a political project. We also see the urgency of dismantling the remnants of authoritarianism in Turkey. We believe that these two goals are interconnected and that the credible prospect of Turkish membership of the European Union is the best way to achieve them. This, however, requires a different public debate...

NGO Monitor has just published a highly detailed examination of European Union (EU) funding of political NGOs in the Arab-Israeli conflict. The fifty-page report, 'Europe's Hidden Hand', shows that the EU provides tens of millions of Euros from public money to NGOs whose activities often exacerbate the Arab-Israeli conflict, rather than encouraging peace. The report also details the severe lack of transparency and accountability in funding of the NGOs. That is – simply another avenue where international funds promote never ending terrorism.Lees verder...
BRUSSELS, Mar 28, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Russia is against the U.S. decision to supply weapons to Kosovo, which unilaterally declared independence from Serbia last month, said Russian envoy to NATO Dmitry Rogozin on Friday.

The return of Russia in the Balkan Peninsula
Over the past 18 months, a dramatic series of developments, centered mostly in the energy field in the Balkans, have grasped the attention of the world’s headlines. The Balkan Peninsula is an integral geopolitical zone on which the issue of world governance is being debated between Washington and Moscow, whilst all other powers, namely the EU countries, the Islamic world and the various transnational interests explore opportunities for advancement.
The latest development concerning the declaration of independence by the Albanians in Kosovo can be viewed also in this context. In the minds of many policy makers in USA, an independent Kosovo could serve as a staging point in a renewed play of the “Cold War” and more specifically as a bulwark against any further Russian advancement in the region and more importantly against the creation of a coalition between EU energy importers and Russian-Eurasian exporters.Lees verder...
BRDO, Slovenia, Mar 29, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Serbia remains committed to the path of integration into the European Union (EU), but not at the price of Kosovo, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said on Friday.

Jeremic said Serbia will continue to fight against the secession of Kosovo by peaceful means.Lees verder...

"When An Infrastructure Worth Billions Is Destroyed, When You Have Thousands Of Casualties... How Can This Be Considered In Any Way A Victory?"
Israel’s security cabinet convened Wednesday, April 2, to examine the homeland’s preparedness for war. It decided to redistribute the bio/chemical warfare masks a few months after they were called in. DEBKAfile’s military sources disclose intelligence data indicating the possibility that Syria may transfer to Hizballah chemical or biological warheads known to have been developed for its war arsenal.
A few hours earlier, the London-based al Quds al-Arabi quoted Damascus officials as claiming that Israel is preparing a big attack on Syria and Hizballah. Syria was said to have ordered a partial call-up of its military reserves.
DEBKAfile reports that Damascus has placed its missile units on the alert after last week deploying two armored brigades on the Beirut-Damascus highway under the command of President Bashar Assad’s young brother Maher Assad, chief of the presidential guard. They were posted there to block the road in case Israeli armored columns attempted to reach Damascus through Lebanon.Lees verder...
