De Wet inburgering verplicht sinds een aantal jaar immigranten met een verblijfsvergunning een inburgeringsexamen met succes af te ronden. Die verplichting is voor Turken in strijd met een verdrag dat Turkije en de EU sloten. Dat bepaalt dat Turken niet meer geld mogen betalen voor de cursus dan burgers uit de EU. Mensen uit de EU zijn vrijgesteld van de verplichting de cursus te volgen.

Last week a small crisis with potentially serious implications blew up between Israel and Turkey. Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon summoned Turkish Ambassador to Israel Ahmet Oguz Celikkol to a meeting Jan. 11 to protest a Turkish soap opera that depicted Israeli agents kidnapping Palestinian children. When the ambassador arrived, he received a lower seat than Ayalon — and was photographed in that position, making it appear that Ayalon was speaking to an inferior. Ayalon wouldn’t shake hands with him during the televised parts of the meeting, and had an Israeli flag visible on the table. Topping it all off, Ayalon told an Israeli cameraman in Hebrew that the important thing was that people see Celikkol sitting down low “while we’re up high.”

It is more than a little ironic that Nato has committed itself to defining a new strategic concept at precisely the moment the transatlantic relationship counts for less than at any time since the 1930s.
In part this development reflects Europe's success. While Europe was the central arena for much of 20th- century history and a principal theatre for both world wars and the cold war, it now is mostly at peace. The Franco-German rift has been replaced by a broader integration of the continent inside the European Union, with France and Germany at its core. Europe is to a large extent whole and free. What happens within it will not determine the arc of the 21st century.

Lars Vilks Attacked by Muslims — Again

Lars Vilks, the infamous Modoggie Man, has been attacked again. The Swedish artist was head-butted by a culture-enricher while he was leading a seminar in Uppsala. Mr. Vilks’ glasses were broken, but he was otherwise largely uninjured.

During the entire time the officers struggle with the perps and get them into the police cars, the crowd surrounds the police and shouts “Allahu Akhbar!” continuously.
Which, if I am not mistaken, is Arabic for “Tomorrow Belongs to Me”.

The presence of so many slight young women in these police operations is alarming. For the time being they can rely on the perceived authority of the police to protect them, but the days of Modern Multicultural Sweden are numbered, and when the real trouble starts, the enrichers will slice and dice these women with barely a pause.
We need burly and well-armed male police in the traditional mode to handle what’s coming.
